We want to preserve this project for the future: help us capture it in a website which people want to visit.
Volunteer role: Web Designer and Maintenance
Time frame: November 2015 – May 2017, with opportunities to be involved and responsibilities changing throughout the project.
Location: Venues across London. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Purpose: To create and update an amazing website that becomes a resource for anyone interested in South Asian soldiers in WW1.
November 2015 – April 2016: maintaining the website with updates, blogs, and improvements.
May – November 2016: developing the website to host the digital stories, quiz, and exhibition information. Testing the user experience.
December – April 2016: maintaining the website with updates, blogs, and improvements.
Skills required: A minimum of web maintenance knowledge a must, including updating a website and simple formatting. An interest in user experience testing, either as a subject or tester, would be excellent.
Support/training provided: Some training may be available from web designers and developers.
Other roles you might be interested in: As Web Designer and Maintenance, you might also be interested in telling historical stories digitally, creating an interactive quiz, or promoting the project. We welcome volunteers who want to do it all!
